FINANCIAL AID Government-funded financial aid is available to eligible students through FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), TAP (New York State Tuition Assistance Program) and the Excelsior Scholarship Program (New York State).

Some colleges (NOT CUNY or SUNY) require additional financial information and may require that you complete the CSS Profile. This form can be found on the College Board website.

PRIVATE SCHOOLS
Can be applied directly from the school specific website - 
Application costs vary for each school vary (some may be free or up to $70)
    It will direct you to different options:
    1 – the individual school application
    2 – the common application
    3 – state system application (all vary by state)

NCAA Clearinghouse
High school athletes who plan to play Division I or II in college, must complete NCAA eligibility forms prior to attending college to ensure that they have met certain GPA and SAT/ACT requirements. Visit eligibilitycenter.org for more information. Fee waivers are available.

Students who receive free or reduced-price lunch, and/or whose family income meets certain financial guidelines, are eligible to take the SAT, SAT Subject Tests, and the ACT for free (two test administrations each).  Most colleges will also accept application fee waivers in these circumstances.  Some fee waivers for college applications are limited; check in the College Office for availability.

 
In order to determine whether or not you are eligible for fee waivers for the SAT, ACT, or college applications, you must complete the Family Financial Form (Lunch Form) at www.myschoolapps.com. This form must be completed every year, no later than December 15th. Eligibility is based on family income. The college office does not determine eligibility, the Department of Education does.

CUNY FEE WAIVERS
If you think you are entitled to a CUNY fee waiver, you can put in a request to the college office to see if you are eligible. If you receive a waiver, you must enter it in the payment section of the application.

COMMON APP
Complete the Fee Waiver section on the Common App and indicate that you are eligible to receive a fee waiver. Your college counselor will confirm your eligibility and sign the fee waiver form when processing your college application. There is nothing else for you to do.

SUNY Portal
The SUNY application is no longer requiring paper fee waivers.  Again, f you think you are entitled to a waiver for the SUNY application on the SUNY portal, please let the college office know and we will approve it for you, if eligible. We cannot approve a waiver without the completion of the lunch form.
