Hope all is well! 

We wanted to share an incredible opportunity from the Kennedy Center for our students. These programs are designed to celebrate creativity and provide access to unique experiences in music and theater. Please help share this information within your school communities.


1. International Young Musicians Program (Music)

  • Eligibility: Ages 14–25, soloists or ensembles (up to 5 people)
  • Requirements: Any instrument (including voice), all genres welcome (classical, jazz, hip-hop, rock, etc.)
  • Application: Submit 3 videos of recent performances
  • Deadline: Wednesday, January 7, 2026
  • Program Dates:
    • Virtual: April 25, May 30, June 27, 2026
    • In-person at Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.: July 23–27, 2026

2. Playwright Discovery Program (Theater/Writing)

  • Eligibility: High school students with disabilities (typically ages 14–19, may extend to 22 depending on local law)
  • Requirements: Submit one fully developed 10-minute script (play, screenplay, film, TV, podcast, spoken word, etc.)
  • Deadline: Wednesday, January 7, 2026
  • Program Dates:
    • Virtual: March 28, April 25, May 30, June 27, 2026
    • In-person at Kennedy Center, Washington, D.C.: July 12–16, 2026
