August 28, 2015 (New York, NY) Haiti born immigrant Jean Maurice Chery presents his expressionist representation of "POWER" during his January 10th – January 30tht showing at St Francis College Art Gallery . 180 Remsen Street, Brooklyn New York 11201.

Chery’s paintings are profound and reflect politics, religion, society, and culture. Each piece is unique and it will speak to the viewer through their own experiences with life. He uses his Haitian culture, family values, thoughts and images as the catalyst for his paintings. He feels deeply for people in despair and for the dynamics of life and the living. “My emotions guide me to paint the turmoil in the world and gives unseen POWER in a world full of COLOR,” states Chery.
Chery obtained his Bachelor of Art and his Master’s Degree at Brooklyn College. He developed his passion for art while attended Junior High and High School in Brooklyn. As a notable alum and rising artist Chery has exhibited his pieces at Brooklyn College, Broom Gallery, Lincoln Center, and St. Francis College.
