On May 1, 2015, the 17th Annual Dinner of the Alumni was held in the large beautiful lobby of New Dorp High School. It was a grand evening. The food was excellent and all enjoyed the raffle table. The classes of 1945, 1955, 1965, 1985, 1995 and 2005 were honored. A number of alumni for the 50th Anniversary, Class of 1965 attended.
Two alumni were inducted into the New Dorp High School of Fame—Martin F. Ryan ‘60, retired U.S. Army Captain, Chairman of Russell Mellon Data Services and President of Interactive Data Services Corporation and Daniel J. Messina, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of Richmond University Medical Center. They both spoke of the influence of New Dorp High School in latter life. Especially in meeting the challenges they faced in order to be successful in their chosen professions.
Each year a larger number of alumni have attended the Annual Dinner. They enjoy seeing old friends and the nostalgia of the event.
Hope to see all alumni at the 18th Annual Dinner in 2016.
Robert Campbell, Class of 1951
