Memoir I loved my years at New Dorp. It was the end of the 60's, beginning the 70's, and it was all about sit-ins, peace demonstrations etc. this may sound archaic now, but my first year at New Dorp 1968, was the first year girls were allowed to wear pants instead of dresses. And boys started growing their hair really long, we did away with bra's and replaced them with beads and naru shirts. What a time.....And who could forget Pinky's on New Dorp Lane, or Grants on Hylan.
