Memoir
When the Federal Open Market Committee (5 Juniors from New Dorp) went to present their presentation in front of two judges in the Federal Reserve, Mr. Vikos mistakenly forgot the combination for the lock on the labtop case, which contained the laptop! The laptop was our only refuge in order to come out with a clean and thorough presentation, which contained a Powerpoint presentation made from Multimedia Fusion. Luckily, we finally got the combination after one of us called Mr. Romano. But, overall the Fed Challenge was a success and I believe we did a great job in representing New Dorp as a whole. I would like to thank Mr. Vikos for his support, Andrew Burghart for his computer skills, Joseph Brancato and Andrew Hong for their jocular comments and lastly Anthony Hoe. Moreover, in my opinion, I think that we all benefitted from this 3-month project that dealt with hard work, research, statistical data and most importantly team effort, for it motivated all of us to come together and make decisions based on the economy. We played the role of the FOMC, which people rarely get the chance to do. The best part of the Federal Reserve was touching and also holding a golden bar that the general public is not access to, but we had that chance.
