Memoir When I think back on New Dorp, I always smile. When I run into a fellow graduate we laugh at old stories or teachers and friends. The legendary "Tia" and "Carranante". They knew everyone's names, whether you were in Italian or Spanish. I remember Borzumato being one of my favorites and being so so sad upon his death. The drama of Tennenbaum's discussions and open forums. Volleyball gym, a favorite amongst us all. I don't recall the "Cool" clique or the "Nerds". I remember us all being on the same level, interacting with everyone. We were all friends w/ each other. No one group was Superior. Freshman year Chorus w/ Bruce Livingston, what an experience ! I remember Meyers/Leidy and how we were all always buzzing. I remember being the only one who liked Lerch-Goldberg's class !!! I remember the constant question in class from some brave soul, "are we really going to use this later on in life? " which reminds me, thank God for typing class!

It was a simpler time, that at the time seemed so complicated. Had we only known what was ahead. Besides defeating the College years, getting a stable job, and buying a house, we faced 9/11. We face terrorism on a daily basis now. Worrying about Bridges, Tunnels, and Subways on our daily commutes to work. The world is so complicated now. I would give anything to have that youthful innocence again. To just be light hearted about your days and have your only concern be to do some homework and study for a Fri test. Those four years were a very happy time for me and some of those friendships are still strong today ! We were a fun/loyal/hardworking/intelligent class. And everyone I run into from my Graduating class still exudes those same qualities. I am proud to have been apart of that class. 1993-1997
