ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

At this time, the result of hurricane Katrina, which hit the Gulf Coast of the United States with catastrophic proportions, has left a multitude of our fellow Americans to face their darkest hour. The loss of life and the damage to property are immeasurable. Tens of thousands are homeless.

In order to offer our support, we have organized the "Walk" for Hurricane Relief in order to help the victims of hurricane Katrina. We are also encouraging other high schools on Staten Island to do the same. Our goal is simple: to enlist 500 to 1,000 students at each site to raise a minimum of $10.00. It is through this grassroots effort that we hope to raise $5,000.00 to $10,000.00 at each school. As a collaborative effort, Staten Island high school students should be able to raise $100,000.00!

The "Walk" for Hurricane Relief will take place at New Dorp High School on Sunday, October 9, 2005. The track for our walkathon will be made available from 9 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Participants are invited to walk any part of the three hours. Please join us in this important moment as a member of both the Staten Island community and the even greater global community.
