English 5 (Junior English)

Course Description

English 5 is an exploration of both British and American literature, with a huge focus on English Regents preparation. SAT preparation is also provided.

TERM PAPER: Due December 18
TOPIC: Shakespeare's Macbeth: Thesis Paper

FORMAT: Typed, double-spaced, 12 pt. font size, Times New Roman font

SPECIFICS: Your paper sould be no less than 2 pages in length, no more than 4, with an additional "Works Cited" page. It requires an introductuion, at least five body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You should be using at least two sources for your research--Macbeth and one other. You may quote from your source, but make sure you give credit to the author.

LATE PAPERS: Late papers will receive a TEN point deduction for every day they are late. As this paper counts as TWO major exams, your chance of passing the course without it will be slim indeed.

PLAGIARISM: Plagiarism will result in an automatic failure of the course. Do not steal any one else's ideas and claim them as your own. If you borrow from another author, it must be quoted and cited.
