The Parallel Contructions for Unit 2 Suspense in "Voices" will be the following:

Traditions from the culture of your choice on marriage. Possible story with this tradition. "The Ghost Story"

Free verse poetry like "hist whist" by e.e. cummings. Must see words pairs that follow with cummings' poem.

Anecdote to follow "The Hitchhiker" on page 83. This has two versions and so should yours.

A story of a super human being from your culture....to follow the "Wife's Tale." A surprise twist in the story.

The parallel contruction for "The Raven" will consist of only one stanza. This single stanza must follow the rhyme scheme of the first stanza of "Raven."

Controlling idea-----From the Regents book explain this term for me. Write a detailed explanation of this term. How could you have done a better job on the practice test we took? Did you establish a controlling idea?
