Supplemental Educational Services 2010-11
If Non-Universal School Meal school:
Students with meal codes of A, 1 or 2 are eligible for supplemental educational services (SES) at this school through No Child Left Behind regulation.
If Universal School Meal school: All students are eligible for supplemental educational services (SES) through No Child Left Behind regulation at this school.
Eligibility communication:
Parent obtains a “Parent Guide” showing available SES providers and an enrollment form with student label directly from the school; these are sent home with students. In 2011, these were sent to current eligible schools in August and will be sent to newly eligible schools in early November. School eligibility is based on New York State Education Department accountability determination.
Provider fair:
Parent attends a “provider fair” held by the school to learn more about the various providers and their offerings – there are many tutoring programs available targeting English language arts, reading and math skills in group or individual settings, with and without ELL and special education focus. Check with the school staff to learn more about on-site providers and others.
Enrollment process:
Parents should review provider offerings and select one on the enrollment form (include provider ID and service code), signing and dating the labeled form. Please note – incomplete forms cannot be processed. The completed forms should be returned either to (a) the school parent coordinator, (b) or the provider, (c) or mailed directly to 28-11 Queens Plaza North, Room 523, Long Island City, NY 11101 postmarked within the following dates.
- October 1-22, 2010
