Hour of Code and Girls Who Code Corporate Club

This week is national Computer Science Education Week, December 8-14, 2014. Schools across America are participating in the Hour of Code during this week. The Hour of Code is a global movement to increase awareness in computer coding. This week I am introducing my technology class to coding in HTML using Khan Academy. Why not give it a try for just one hour?

"In January of 2015, Girls Who Code will be launching Corporate Clubs with our partners, Twitter and Spotify. Girls Who Code are looking for amazing young women, passionate about learning technology to participate in this unique opportunity. Girls Who Code Corporate Clubs is an after school program where students learn coding from professional engineers at our partner companies. This is a rare opportunity for High School girls to learn from and network with top technology professionals throughout the school year. The Club will meet for two hours once a week, starting the week of January 12th and ending approximately the week of May 25th (exact end date may vary). The classes will be held from 4pm EST to 6pm EST in NYC. We are still finalizing the day they will be held."
